1. Educational Projects

a. Sponsoring Education

Let's Teach One was born in 2007 to empower children through education. Slowly underprivileged Kids were handpicked by us for the sponsorship of their education up to class 10.
The selected students, each year, are those with financial challenges and who would otherwise have to quit education even before completing the secondary level education.

So far, Nearly 110 children's education have been sponsored in Bengal and Maharashtra. As of now, 20 students have now cleared class 10th examinations.

2. Notebook Donation Drive

The "Let’s Teach One" is on a simple yet powerful mission: to provide quality education and hope to underprivileged children in rural areas.

In Maharashtra State, Mokhada and Jawhar region of Palghar District has over 40,000 school-going children. Most children have to walk 2 Kilometers barefoot to reach school every day due to lack of resources. This region of Maharashtra has agriculture and farming as the prime source of earning and rampant alcoholism due to poverty and lack of education. In order to cope with poverty and financial crisis, they sacrifice their child’s education very often.

According to the RTE of Education Board, All school children are entitled to receive textbooks, uniforms, and mid-day meals to encourage them to get an education. Unfortunately, they do not even receive basic stationery such as notebooks in this rural and remote area.

“Let’s Teach One” has partnered with “Youth For People” in 2014 to initiate The Notebook Donation Drive for these school children. In this notebook donation camps, “Let’s Teach One” collect and distributes essential school supplies, particularly notebooks, to children who lack access to such resources.

We hope to provide each child with a year's supply of notebooks so that they can stay in school and continue their education for one more year. These notebook donation camps not only bridge the gap in educational resources but also instill a sense of community and support among the children and their families. Through the support of friends and well-wishers, this crowd-funding campaign for their education has been steadily increasing their outreach.

The NGO’s dedication to creating a brighter tomorrow for these underprivileged children demonstrates the transformative impact of simple acts of kindness and generosity. With each notebook distributed, they take a step closer to building a more equitable and educated society for all.

3. Water Conservation Projects

The "Let’s Teach One" has a vision for sustainable water conservation in rural areas. At the heart of our mission lies the setup of a unique canal-widening project ”Water For Walkhed” in Walkhed, Maharashtra, which seeks to restore, repair, and expand existing canals in this remote rural area.

One of the key global concerns in recent years has been to reduce the carbon footprint and increase water conservation and harvesting.  Many organizations are employing earth-friendly technology in rainwater harvesting and conservation across the globe. The increasing number of farmer suicides has been alarming in recent years due to unpredictable rains and global warming.

Recognizing the critical importance of water resources in agricultural life, Let’s Teach One has embarked on a pioneering journey to revitalize and widen deteriorating canals. This project not only addresses water scarcity but also promotes eco-friendly practices, helping communities adapt to climate change.

In 2016-2019, through partnerships with “Youth for People”, Let’s Teach One set up a unique canal widening project in Walkhed, Maharashtra which was for the purpose of repair, restoration, and widening of their existing canal.

The local community villagers also participated in this project voluntarily. The 'shramdaan', i.e. physical labor was entirely contributed by them.

With the help of experts, canal systems have been widened ensuring the efficient reservation and distribution of water for irrigation and domestic use.

This project not only helped villagers conserve a larger quantity of water but also helped them to sustain themselves comfortably until the next year (i.e., 2017) monsoon arrived. This project also helped mitigate soil erosion and flooding.

The huge success of the 'Water For Walkhed’ campaign inspired adjacent villages to replicate this model. Thus helped in building community participation and support.

By ensuring access to a sustainable and abundant water supply, We are committed to paving the way for improved agricultural productivity and enhanced living conditions in these underserved regions, fostering a brighter future for all.

4. Eye Health Camps

"Let’s Teach One" is a dedicated non-governmental organization (NGO) with a mission to fight preventable cases of vision loss, cataracts, and eye infections in underprivileged communities. We organize regular eye camps in collaboration with local eye care doctors in West Bengal. We started this project in 2010 with the intention of reducing cases of eye infections, reduced sight, cataracts, and loss of vision. We are successfully continuing the organization of eye camps that helped to reduce the cases of eye patients in West Bengal.

Through our partnerships with ophthalmologists and optometrists in the local area, Let’s Teach One ensures that these eye camps offer free eye examinations, consultations, and treatment to those who cannot afford such medicare services in the local rural region. The camps are often held in remote rural and economically disadvantaged areas where access to eye care is limited.Cataracts can lead to blindness if not treated on time.

By joining hands with eyecare medical experts and local volunteers, our camps not only provide basic medical support but also raise awareness about eye check-ups and the prevention of eye diseases.

Every year a team of doctors is arranged to visit the villages near Kolkata for free eye checks and treatment of the same.

"Let's Teach One" want to provide the gift of clear vision to all human kind.
